The Trial

On the 16th November, I went to Valpark which is near my home, to trial our survey questionnaires. The questionnaires were received well and people were interested in hearing about the local whales and dolphins. Almost everyone knew that there were whales and dolphins locally but most believed that there were very few (<5) species rather than at least 14 and many were not aware of the threats they faced locally.

The Quizes Begin

The preparation phase for this project has just ended and today I will be going out to start questionnaires. We have been measuring public visits to the website for the past week as planned and they have stayed pretty low. Hopefully the quizes will make people more aware of CCARO's website giving more people access to its educational information and the opportunity to get involved in conservation activites.
